clank when i turn my wheel help!

there are two clanks when i turn my wheel, i turn it about 1 &1/2 times to the right or left i get two loud clanks. i was thinking maybe the bushings? ive never really been good with front ends and such so i need help with this one. its a 2wd xlt 94, this is my street car its never been offroad

Does the clank sould like it's coming from the streering column or the front end?

the clank is coming from the front end.

Sounds like the bushings.

When was the last time you had a front end allignment?

check your ball joints too. mine was doing that before i replaced my ball joints. there easy to check, just jack up the front end and put a bar under the tire, and lift up, using the bar as leverage. there should be little or no freeplay.

no freeplay, its the bushings allright, anyone got any ideas? ive heard drilling that sounds like it could get intamate...
