The drivers side window will not go down unless pushed a bit and it will not go down all the way. It will go up, but will stop about 1/2 " short and I can push it the rest of the way. Is this the gear/motor failing or the regulator that is either broke or bent?

Probably just need to lube the regulator and the window channels. This is something that gets ignored until there is a problem, as you have to remove the inner door panel for access. I am guilty of this too. My passenger window is getting very lazy about going down.

I had this issue on my 98 mountaineer. I WD-40'd the channel where the window sits when closed and would roll it up and down so it ghetto lubed the track. Helped a bit. Wasn't about to tear about the door to fix it though.

Update...Bought and installed new motor and Reg..and it worked like a charm...

Glad you fixed it. Had the same deal, replaced the motor and still had the problem. It turned out a piece of the window trim (felt) had fallen into the track and was jamming the window.
