I had a minor accident during the summer, but the car was still driveable. I noticed immediately afterwards the car felt warmer above the console while the air conditioner was running. The body has been repaired and I really don't drive too much anymore since I work from home. I few days ago, I was driving at night when the windshield fogged up. I turned on the defroster but it made no difference. The air conditioner works fine but nothing seems to be hitting that windshield to clear the foggy windows. It is pretty dangerous to drive like that.

Does anyone know where I should start looking? I really hope this isn't one of those problems where you have to pull the dash.

Thanks in advance.

Under the hood, on the passenger side, find the two vacuum lines that enter the firewall. They are small and one is black and the other is grey. Follow the grey line back toward the front of the engine and see if it is still connected to the vacuum operated valve located (memory now) under the alternator. You can see and reach it easily across the fender. This valve shuts off the heater hose line to keep the heat away from the core when the A/C is running. Just a guess, but you may find it disconnected.

That makes sense, damage was on the passenger side. I will check tomorrow. Thank you!
