Wiper blade on driver’s side does not go down behind hood. It sticks up about 3/4 inch when shut off. How to adjust?

Has it always been like that or is this a recent change? I've never really checked out how they are mounted but I'm guessing they are just like the old ones that are on a type of sprocket.

They used to retract below the edge of the hood. It’s a recent development.

Have you checked to see if there might be something blocking it from going to the rest position? I'm not aware of any possible adjustments that can be made.

Any chance the wiper arm got bent some how?

I've noticed that mine rests slightly higher when the wipers are in use, then will 'park' at the lower setting after just a bit.

My Aviator operates the same way. That is the way it is supposed to work.

That’s exactly what mine have stopped doing. They go to rest position, but they are still to high.

Is "auto wipers" on? When it is, the wiper arms rest a bit higher.

I'm guessing you are talking about the Rain Sensing feature Mike. If so, the wipers will rest a little higher until a certain time of inactivity has passed and then they go down to the normal 'rest' position as hbalek mentioned.

Yeah should be in the lowest position for aerodynamics for regular dry, the auto may have it rest higher until water is detected.
