I can't tell what you're doing there. But you need to be tapping into the 6 pin connector at the sub amp for your signal wires. You shouldn't be touching the 10 pin connector. (it should only have the two wires for the subwoofer speaker output) You also should have two wires leaving the sub amp. A power and a ground. The power is hot at all times. Don't touch these wires. Leave them as they are. Back to the 6 pin connector. One wire, DG/P, Pin 2, is your enable circuit. I'm thinking this may be your problem. This wire receives a 5V signal from the factory radio and tells the sub amp to turn on. You need to find a similar wire from your new head unit and wire it to this circuit. However, it will almost assuredly be a 12V signal, so you must use either a 5V regulator or you can try a 5.6K resistor in line. Otherwise, you will get a real ugly pop at turn on. The regulator is by far the best approach. Next, on that same 6 pin connector, you need to find the BR/O wire. Pin 5. It's your speaker signal + wire and R/BK, pin 6, is your signal - wire. Those are the two wires you want to hook to your signal coming from your speakers. These are on the input to the amp. This should have you fixed up. By the way, the color codes I gave you are the codes from the factory for 1996. But, I have seen them differ in the field. But the pin numbers and locations should be correct. Also, there are only those three wires in the 6 pin connector.
