Wire melting, near wheel well.

The problem started 3 days ago when idling and listening to music with the AC on. The hood began to smoke terribly bad, I turned of the car and began expecting the engine to no avail. I soon looked under the the left front wheel well and noticed melted plastic all over a little wire connecting box. Turning the car back on without the AC everything was ok and I drove home, I noticed that the parking brake light will not go off and now the car doors will not automatically lock when the car is being driven. The next day car drove fine but as soon as night came around and I turned on my headlights the same burning smell occur but no smoke this time. I noticed the ABS light was begging to flash like the Parking Break light did but this one does not remain on. I will provide any more information to my best ability if needed, I seek any help because at this time I cannot afford a 300 dollar repair bill for something like a dirty ground wire.

It could be the ABS/ auto hub sensor wire. I would just repair it with a small splice and then make sure its routed properly (use the passenger side as a model). If you repair it and check for clearance, you should be fine. Was it resting against a brake component? or was it getting rubbed raw? Describe exactly what wire.
