Hey gang, been away for awhile designing and building a new computer room and office for the ISP I work for.

I got a notice a few weeks ago, actually I think it was before Christmas, to get my emmissions checked on my 97 XLT V8 AWD. I know I need to replace my Spark plug wires before I get it checked since I can feel a slight misfire going up hills. My problem is I cannot find wires for my truck anywhere. I am sure there is a thread around here somewhere about wires, but I dont have much time to search, so if someone knows where I can get a good set of wires for my truck, email me so we dont take up room with this thread.

Thanks.

I too seek info on spark plug wires. What are good ones that provide no interference with my radio?
Thanks....

Magnecor makes wires for the '97 Explorer V8. There are applications for early 1997 models and late 1997 models. These wires are designed with computer controlled vehicles in mind. And they carry a lifetime warranty.

Part number 85230 is for the early 97's which have the 7 & 8 cylinder wires routed around the front of the engine.

Part number 85231 is for the late 97's which have the 7 & 8 cylinder wires routed around the back of the engine.

Check out Cyberspace Automotive Performance to order. I ordered a set for my '95 and was told it would be 3 to 4 weeks. They arrived a week later. Price was 33% less than MSRP.
