Well, I too am a member of the "crappy gas mileage" club, maybe getting 200 miles to a full tank on my 93 XLT. My first plan is to change the wires and plugs, since they appear to not have been changed in a while.....
My question, which plugs and wires do you prefer? I see alot of people here are running the Bosch Platnium +4's, but what about wires? Any general pricing would be appreciated as well.
Thanks,
Eric

THE BOSHE PLATNIUM 4'S ARE GREAT I BOUGHT MINE AT ADVANCED AUTO PARTS STORE THEY GAVE ME A LIFE TIME WARRENTY ON THEM --GOOD DEAL @ 7 BUCKS A POP--- i WENT WITH EXCELL EXTREME 9000 THE ONLY ONE MADE FOR AN EXPLORER I TRIED A CHEAPY WHEN MY ENGINE WAS PINGING DID NOTHING SO I BOUGHT THE EXCELL MY ENGINE STOPPED PINGING AND I'M NOT ONLY GETTING BETTER HORSE POWER BUT BETTER GAS MILES ALL THIS RAN ABOUT 100 BUCKS BUT WELL WORTH IT!!!!!

Eric-I'm running the Bosch Platinums+4s and I think that they are great plugs. I'm using Splitfire Duel Cores which work great with the plugs. I paid about $50 for a set of wires and $49 for the plugs. I highly recommend both.
