Good Day All,

I am in the process of trying to wire a 10" subwoofer and amplifier to my 2004 Explorer stock stereo. The stereo works and sounds great, I just want a little kick to it.

I just got out and pull the head unit, and found there are no RCA connections for the Audio out, and not sure where to find the blue auto power on connection.

Is there an adapter that I need? Or if anyone can help me get started I would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance,

Brook

you need a line output converter. it converts the signal going through your speaker wire into signals going through rca's. here is one on ebay that says it has a remote turn on as well. http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-PREMIUM-LIN...ryZ32809QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem. what i would do for the remote turn on, is just connect it to a switched wire in your car.(for example, acc wire(green/lt. green) at the ignition). another switched acc wire is the black/pink wire on the radio harness. you can also get a line output converter at best buy for like $20. hope this helps.

Line level convertor is what I did in my 2003. I had a bass tube in the 3rd seat floor cutout, sounded good with the factory system...

Thanks... just a few other questions...

DMacLennan14 - in your suggestion in the converter on Ebay, how would this be wired in? would I splice the wiring into the existing speaker output so that I would be able to maintain my stock speakers?

Joe Dirt - What type of converter did you put in? how hard was it to wire? and how did you wire your remote power?

Thanks everyone!

Brook
