I recently had the X in the body shop after being rear ended. When they removed the back bumper they took off my t-connector trailer wiring harness. The shop says it wasn't on there but, I know better. I bought a factory harness thru ebay. There's a factory plug behind the bumper off the tail light/license light wiring. When I went to plug in the harness, I saw that the 4 holes that I need for connection were corroded shut. Any suggestions on how to clean this, or will I need to find another way?
Anyone have a plug that I could splice into my wiring?
Thanks.

Any auto parts store will have a trailer pigtail or trailer wiring adapted for your truck/hitch. You can splice into the wires either behind the bumper, behind the brake lights, or under the truck, possibly behind the drivers side cargo covers (plastic panels).
You can splice in or you can get the more expensive plug in kit (sounds like what you had)
personally I would call the body shop and ask them to buy me a kit.

Have you tried a search for this?

WD-40 is an excellent wire/contact cleaner. Dielectric grease should also be used on any plugs that are exposed to the elements as well.

Thanks. I understand that I can splice into the wiring. I'm trying to use the factory wiring but, the holes are corroded shut. I'm wondering if there's anything to clean this with so I can use the wiring that is already there. Will the old baking soda and water hurt or help this? If not, I'll go to the junkyard and look for another pigtail that's in better shape, cut mine off and splice in the new one, then I can use the new factory wiring harness that I just bought.

baking soda and water will work, yes.
So will WD-40 (wire dryer is what WD stands for, its an electrical contact cleaner)

Actually the WD in WD 40 stands for Water Displacement ( the 40th attempt ). Never heard of it being an electrical contact cleaner.

I was told it was Wire Dryer :)

hahaha but yeah that makes sense, dont believe everything you are told I guess.....

It works good as a cleaner.....
