After short trips to the stores, the Explorer sometimes doesn't start. Usally, if I wait a few minutes it will then start. (Cranks but doesn't turnover) This has happened (3) other time but today I waited almost two hours. Someone mentioned vapor lock and someone mentioned a computer problem. Has 120K 1994 Auto.

Any advise would be gladly appreciated.

i had a similar problem.. it could be the starter, battery or ignition... mine was the starter... good luck wtih it

Had the same thing going on with mine a few months ago, turned out to be the fuel pump relay ( in the fuse box under the hood, getting to hot I guess ) Whenever it happened, I would raise the hood, flick the relay with my finger, turn the key and it would start right up and run fine. Hasnt happened since I replaced the relay.
Good luck, Marty

my starter is pretty weak...everynow and than i gotta get out and hit it with my tire iron til it starts up...ill prob. get a new one soon.

Cranking but no start...well that rules out the starter.
I had same problem only I couldnt pinpoint it.
I changed the crank sensor, the coil and both 02 sensors, and the fuel pump relay.
Its been a little over a month and it hasnt repeated.

I replaced the fuel pump relay and will drive it around to see if that solved the problem. Thank you to everyone who responded, any and all help is appreciated.

Please post your findings here, hope its fixed.
