- 91 mazda navajo
I have a 93 mazda navajo that wont start after its shut off if its hot. the temp is right where it should be, i can hear the fuel pump kicking in just fine but i dont know what to think. it will fire and idle irratically for a few seconds at 100 to 300 rps then just die. it usually takes about 45 minutes to start again after being shut off, this winter wasnt bad, but now that warmer weather is back it is doing it every time the truck is shut off. i havent tried to pull the codes yet but i really cant think of what it could be, the only thing that pops into my head would be a pluged cat, im not sure about the explorer 4.0, but the navajo 4.0 has 2 cats. i had a similar problem with my rx7 which also had 2 cats i tore out the one closest to the manifold and welded in a pipe and it ran great after, but since the first cat on this truck is so close to the yoke i'd hate to cut it and not have that be the problem. any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks alot, john
