my 95 xlt won't start if the oil level is lower then full  , well sometimes it doesn't, sometimes it does, once i've filled the oil completely to full level the problem disappears , and then returns after a month or 2 ,and I top up and it goes for a while again.
I had it checked in the garage to find the problem , but nobody knows what it could be other then keep topping up to avoid being stuck somewhere and when it happens wait 15 to 30 min. or so, or rock my truck sideways this sometimes works. It cranks fine. no problems with overheating, no engine check light, had the oil changed ,no results. I know this all sounds ridiculous but anybody ????? please help.
WHY THE OIL? ONCE WE DROVE ALMOST WITHOUT OIL AND IT STARTED TO HAPPEN (NO START) EVERY OTHER DAY OR SO UNTIL WE REFILLED THE OIL AND IT WAS GONE FOR 3TO 5 MONTHS , AND NOW IT COMES BACK ABOUT EVERY 3 TO 5 WEEKS UNTIL i TOP UP WITH OIL AND AM GOOD AGAIN FOR AWHILE

sounds like a bad crank position sensor

could you tell me how that can be set right, although my wife tells me she did run the car without oil?
