Ok people I am in desperate need of some help. I have a 2001 Ford Explorer Sport that just will not start. It has a stock Anti-Theft system on it that I think armed itself. The Radio and lights will come on just as normal but the truck will not turn over. Does anyone know how to turn off the stock alarm using the ignition key? Is that possible? Thanks in advance

did you try disconnecting the battery for a bit?

Does the engine crank? Look at the theft light while turning the key. Does it flash fast while the engine cranks or stay lit while turning the key and the engine not turn over?

The only way to dis-arm the anti-theft system is to use a remote or the keypad on the door.

I have the same problem and ford said that there is an aftermarket alarm on the system that is screwing with the ford system, they recommend removing the aftermarket alarm, for the time being locate the emergency overide button and press it while turning the key. My overide button is on the kickpanel

this is funny my truck had the same problem, it turned out to be the aftermarket security system. what mine did was shut off the battery incase the glass was broken or something. the previous owner lost the remote so thought not to tell me about it. it turned out that the reciever had a battery inside, and after a year the battery died so sometimes I could start it but others I could not. I ended up totally removing the reciever and redirecting the wire to it's proper location.

Well I am still in the same situation. I tried pressing the override button and no luck. WHen I turn the key there is a clicking noise comming from the starter. I still think it is the alarm system that is keeping it from starting. Tried to disco the battery but still no luck. Gonna have to have it towed to a alarm shop and have them take a look. THanks for the Help and I will let yall know how it goes!
