Okay, for the past WEEK...I have been working on this 1993 GMC Jimmy that my friend brought over. Turns out the thing threw a rod, LITERALLY through the oil pan, and it was all over from there. It was also in a minor fender bender a few months prior to throwing a rod.. Tweaked the bumper, and frame 'horn' area..and shattered the grill.

So I scored a 1994 GMC Jimmy off Craigslist for $300...It runs but has no OD, but I was able to drive it up onto my friends trailer, and take it home...drove it around the block a few times, parked it next to the 93 of my friends, and start tearing it all apart...

I have NEVER been so frustrated with a motor swap!

I had to LIFT THE BODY to get to the top bellhousing bolts! EVERYTHING IS IN THE WAY OF THE NEXT ITEM YOU NEED TO PULL OFF!

Then to top it off, I had wiring problems that led me to trace EVERY SINGLE WIRE from the ECM to the engine, then to the Bulkhead wiring block, and I found a short in the bulkhead block, fixed THAT, and then it finally fired right up...

That is the readers digest version....some things that WOULD have taken 10-15 min to do on my Explorer, took me 2-3 hours!...I have owned S-10's before, but never with the 4.3L, and now I know why...

I know the feeling I spent 8 hours one day changing spark plugs and wires on a 2000 Blazer, where i can get it done on my Explorer in like an hour
