Worklog: 7 beats 3... NOT as cool as typhoons

Yea I agree with the dash part if your truck is a daily driver like most of ours glassing it to look seamless would be awesome but what happens if you need to get in their? Wouldn't be easy but you would prolly have to take the whole dash off just to check something. As far as airbags go it is just a judgement call do you want to keep them in or out? Just remember when doing these projects do the best you can but you got to realize most of those show cars are not functional daily drivers. They don't build them for that though so....just do what you can. Anyways keep up the great work hydroxy have fun SANDING SANDING SANDING! hahaha :)

and maybe a cap. We'll see.

yeah you're gonna need a cap... 3 amps pushing 7 subs? i feel sorry for your friggin' alternator. hell, my 4 off road lights would cause my voltage gauge to drop a significant amount when switched on.

Just my electric fan causes my Voltage to drop...........

Keep up the work Hydroxy, i wait for more Pics :bounce: :bounce:

I think I'm going to put in kill switches for two of the amps so that when I'm just driving along, I can cut off the 4 on the sides. Tomorrow I'm going to try and get a lotta work done - so look for pictures.

i guarantee if you do that, it will POP really loud even if its all installed properly when you flip that switch

well It'll just be a relay to the remote wire. I wouldn't turn it on/off while the HU is on. Anyways, it would just be a temp fix till I get new alternator/cap(s)/and 2nd battery. Hopefully by not running it all, all the time I can save my alternator from a quick death.

honestly, i wouldn't worry that much. i ran 2200 rms off the stock alternator no problem

hell, i'll send you my used stock alt the 130 amp for $75 its in the for sale forum right now, and i promise thats plenty to power your system without dying.

i also wouldnt worry about ur alt cooking..they take a prety big hit and keep on trucking =) just ask my punny little alt in my car lol

yeah, his alt is like 35 amps

I know where a "King Of Alternators" is for sell from an individual. He lists it as BRAND NEW, NEVER INSTALLED 220 amp Iraggi Alternator. It is still in the box. PM me if you are interested or something. I think it is for a SOHC engine also. Also it sells new from the manufacturer for a little over 500 bucks, but he wants way less than that for it. Just letting you know, now may be the time for ya to do it. It is cheaper than I paid for my 200 amp alternator from MrAlternator.

does he have any for trackers??? ill trade him mine =)

I have a limited, so I have the 135amp alternator stock. Atleast I'm pretty sure that is what the limited's have... there was a long thread on it sometime.

you'll be fine the way you are now then. don't worry about it at all with those amps.

if you cut off two of the amps which power 4 of the subs and their are no chambers then your other three subs are going to be running in one huge chamber and are probably going to blow

there are 3 chambers.... 2 chambers have 2 subs ea. one has 3... look at the very first page and you can see the chambers. Thanks for checking though =)

ok, didn't get much work done this weekend, I went to visit a friend at USC. I've started on the amp rack though and got most of the stands put in to hold the amps up. I think the amp rack is going to turn out pretty good looking considering the materials/time put into it.

Bad news on the amp... Circuit City called and left a message that they "couldn't get the part from the manufacturer", so they were sending it back to the store... I called the store, and they said that my claim said, "you connected it wrong, so we're not replacing it". Well - back when I had my other amp installed, I paid for them to install it, so we'll see what happens when I call them today. I dont think I'm ever going to buy a warrenty again though. When I bought it, the guy said "If ANYTHING ever happens to it, bring it in and we'll fix it or replace it". The simple fact that they are trying to not fix it is enough to turn me off. Also, this now f#)($*#()*$s me over for my school's (VA Tech) car show on the 18th, because even if I do get them to fix it, I seriously doubt they'll be able to get it by then. F(#)*()#$.

Edit: Whole thing to be completed by Sunday morning... look for many pictures the end of this week and weekend.
