HAHA bondo and resin smells same here. As far as the amp goes I would never buy those crap warranties cause they will promise you everything under the sun about if it goes out bring it back. They will always try to weasel out of it. So what if it isn't the exact amp you bought from them trust me CC rips off plenty of people so it won't hurt to do the same to them. SO funny talking to their commision hungry sales guys what is the RMS on these speakers "umm not sure but peak power is 120!" Laff good luck.
Was on the phone for about an hour with them... The service lady said it was incorrect hookup. I told them that they hooked it up. Then they said I fried it when I took it out (crossed the wires somehow). I told them that I only took it out after it stopped working. They said it might have not worked when I took it out, but when I took it out, I broke it more......... The lady said if I had brought it into the store, and had THEIR people remove it, then they would have fixed it, but because I removed it, they couldn't do anything about it b/c it was all my fault. I'm going to get refunded whatever is left on my warrenty, but that is it. Maybe $20? I'm not really pissed about the fact that I couldn't get them to repair it, mainly the fact that when I bought the amp, the words out of the sales rep were 'If anything ever happens to it, bring it in and we'll fix it or replace it'. I will never buy anything from them ever again. I will also call up and try and cash out my 4 year warrenty on my head unit while there is still some time left on it. I think I paid close to $180 for my warrenties on the HU and Amp.
I called back and told them that all the fuses had blown before I had taken it out, thus no power wire to short it out. She basically then *****ed me out for 'not understanding' what they were saying (NOT a racist comment - but I could tell the lady was black and as soon as I questioned what she said, she just let loose on me). She said there must have been another power wire dangling free back there that I touched it to when I removed it. I had to hang up in the middle of her convo before I got too pissed off.
Anyways, lesson learned: dont buy warrenties without actually looking at the fine print, never buy anything from 'connect-comp' on eBay, because they dont respond to emails when there is a problem with what they sold you (the burn marks on the outside of the amp weren't in the description), and lastly - "Buy the best, only cry once".
Soooooo I'm going to have 4 subs running off one amp.... this will be interesting to say the very least.
Question: What are some amp(s) I should be looking at to power all these subs? 250rms, 500max. 4 are 4ohm, 3 are 12ohm subs.
Anyways, I'm a fool for trying to use my warrenty like I did, I dont need to be told that. Although it opened my eyes to how they deal with warrenty claims.
I'll be posting the amp on eBay being sold as BROKEN and NOT-FIXABLE if anyone is interested
