My steering is acting a little off lately. Seems fine going straight, but when in a turn and hitting some bumps I get a "shudder" in the steering wheel.

I jacked up each lower control arm, and all ball joints are fine. (outer tie rod ends were just replaced 6 months ago) When checking the inners, I didn't notice anything, but it was hard to check as the opposite wheel kept moving on me...

Inners are still the original tie rods with 290K Kilometers

If you've moved the rack around with the engine off, you may have gotten air in the system. If so, go to an open space (like an empty parking lot) and drive along slowly while turning the steering wheel from lock-to-lock. It can take a while to get the air completely expelled. Very common problem. I just went through this with a vehicle that was towed by AAA.

Yes, that was it!!!

I recently had to move the truck manually when my CPS crapped out. Must have got some air in the steering. Had a "notchey" feeling to the steering and bump shudder.

Thanks Koda, nice to have an easy repair and no greasy hands...
