I was riding with my freind in his 2000 El Dorado when i got a idea from all his functions. Would it be possible to have push button everything?
Im talking to open the hood, the tailgate, the doors from inside and out, everything?

His came stock with pushbutton hood and trunk. I wanna do this to my hood and tailgate, and have it where i press the button in the dash and they raise all the way up, then you barely push them back down and they close themselves.
After that, i would like to install buttons on the inside to open the doors. Im already going to have my outer doorhandles shaved and release buttons frenched in.
Maybe after that, ill install a push button engine, and completly disguard needing a key like a Honda Civic I saw on CarDomain.com

Would this even be possible?

it is POSSIBLE but it is going to take some $ to try to retrofit a system that will work with one that wasnt deigned for it... it will also take a lot of time....

might as well buy an el dorado for the $$ you will drop on this thing.

i was thinking just getting some kind of hydrolic pump and wiring them to a button. i figure it cant be that hard.

im thinking of getting the el dawg. there selling it for 5000

wiring a hydraulic pump isnt that hard... its trying to fabricate some sort of mechanism that will allow it to open close on its own......

i worked on a MB cl500 recently... it had a winch like device in the trunk lid, you would press a button on the remote, and the trunk opened fully.... press a button on the inside of the trunk lid, and it winched itself closed.........

Dodge minivans have that for the rear hatch also. Might wanna take alook at those

ANYTHING is possible with enough cash. Fabricating a SAFE hood open/close mechanism would not be easy without some good backround in machining and fabrication. If you can't shave your own handles, I wouldn't attempt this.

DroppedKamelion, you are either very very rich or very very ambitious... or, for your sake, you are both. Your future plan (well some of them anyway) for your truck is awesome. You just gotta START putting half of them into a reality before going any further.

I, for one, am hoping what you say you gonna do to your truck will eventually happen in the near future.

thanx mrboyle

and X ive started putting my stuff in. im having my stereo installed within the next week or two, im having 5.0 fabricate a new console for my screen, and im still saving for my 20s (about halfway there, started saving 2 weeks ago). I just had my truck repainted and will be getting my airdam put on soon. Ive had my rollpan priced and all that but put that on hold.

I think thats a nice start considering i didnt really start on anything till 2 weeks ago.

you are halway to a set of 20s? and you started saving 2 weeks ago? are you a drug dealer that lives at home? i need to be able to save $ like that!!!!

lol i gets my money by any means necesary

Question answered.

lol nah it aint like that

Why would you want to make opening the hood dependant on another system? (electrical)
Hope you never get a dead battery! (My other car can ONLY open the trunk via electric pushbutton, there's not even a spot for a key... I parked it for a year, went to jump start it, guess where the jumper cables were?)
