Wow I got lucky?!?!?

Aight get your head out of the gutter. I had the A2800E (2000 model) audiobahn amp and it started smoking cuz it was wired to the wrong number of ohms. Well that amp wasnt gonna work for my DVC audiobahn 15. The fan on the A2800E didnt work so i called up audiobahn warranty and went to the warranty place in Buena Park. The lady there let me trade my amp in for the A1801Q (2002 model). So i paid $150 for the A2800E and I messed up by picking the wrong amp, then got lucky and actually came out way better in the deal with the 2002 model mono amp that bumps my 15 really hard. I dunno just though id share. Im planning on building a box with a custom little amp rack thingy this weekend so Ill try to post some pics.

Also the new amp has a digital volt meter readout thing and it reads around 14.5-14.8 is that good or..... I plan on getting a digital audiobahn cap too.

14.5-14.8 is what it should be when your truck is running.

Glad things worked out for you. That amp was exactly what you needed. That other one you had was completly wrong for your application.

I think a cap would be a waste of money for the watts you are running. If your amp is getting 14.5 volts and doesn't drop when the bass hits you have no need for a cap. I'd spend the money and get an electronic x-over. Glad to hear you got everything worked out.

Yup, Adudiobahn's warranty department is great. My 1300HCX that I got off ebay quit working, well my RCAs got shorted out, and broke it, and they replaced it with a 2002 model for $60. I just wish I lived closer to them, its taking forever to get here...

audiobahn honors the warranty off ebay stuff? i thougth u only could purchase through a authorized dealer or the warranty wouldnt work?

I dunno, a long distance phone call to em, and they were sending me an RA number to send in my stuff. It did cost me $60 to upgrade from the 2001 model to the 2002 model tho...
