Is there a coresponding sequence number in the VIN to the later '02s? It's often easier to get the VIN than the build date. Thanks.
I don't know how to get the build date off the VIN. It is on the door sticker on the side of the driver's door.
I think you should set out to find a cherry '05 with the stuff you want. There are loads of them available in the bigger cities. Use the internet and look at inventories at nearby dealers. If you find a sweet '04 that would be OK too. The dealers have the capability to tighten up the shift points on the '04-'05s by flashing the PCM to make them feel less sloppy. Ask for that update as part of your deal. Good luck.
