i don't know how many other people have xm in their truck but i just got it in mine last summer. im having a really annoying problem with mine. i installed it myself and it worked fine until about 2 months ago. every time i hit a bump, big or small, the unit shuts off. without yanking on the power cord, i push the power button on the unit and it comes right back on, only to shut off when the next bump comes (usually within a minute or 2). i have looked at the cigarette plug and it is in there pretty snug. i have a splitter with my cell phone and radar detector attached to the same power source and they dont shut off when i hit a bump. also, sometimes when i turn the power back on, the sound is very loud and screeches. i simply turn it off, unplug it from the base, and plug it back in and it works fine after that. i also have the xm boom-box and it doesnt shut off when its in there. anyone have this problem or know what it might be?

anyone?

ah, i had this happen to me

what i did was took the adapter in which the reciever sits in (keeping in mind you must have some delphi piece of hardware, like the skyfi or roady), take the plastic pieces off of the adapter, which will expose the board in which everything sits on, find where the power adapter goes in, and if a solder pad has broken loose, every time you hit a bump it will cut off the power

this has not only happened to my power plug and my audio cable plug, but has also happened to one of my teacher at school

hopefully this will solve the problem
