Year & Model Designations?

Gidday all, just a quick question, what models go with what years?
I used to have a 1998 UP & now own a 2000 UR but have noticed on the Ford Explorer Forum here in the Land Down Under (Oz) that there seems to be both UR & US in 2000. Just curious as to if there are any differences, keep in mind these are RHD 4b's.
I,ve been told mine was the 3rd last one exported from the US of A.

Good to see you back, wondered were you where. I've put one of your pic's up (snorkel pic) in the Aussie Ford Explorer Forum, hope you don't mind but there was a thread about snorkels & how hard & expensive they are & yours looks ****hot.

So yours & mine both being UR's would be identical then (except for mods that is) even being from different years, that must mean the US came in the later part of 2000.
Hows yours going now with the new disc's & all, I've got this silly ARC as well now & was wondering what you went through when you got rid of yours, thanks.

Hi, Mate mine would be a little different because it was in August of 99 they changed the v6 sohc a little and because mine is on the Sept side of August mine has a few parts that were left over from the previous donk ie the belt tensioner just to name 1 and I only found that out because my original started to loose tension .
Ford have finally caught up with me for the recall on the cruise control switch on the brake master cylinder but the mob over here havn't got the part as yet .
Mate those Cryo brakes from "buybrakes" are awesome ,I couldn't compare them to the oe's not in the same race but mate what Ford are asking for their oe's out here I'd have to sell my house so I'd payed something similar but got a far better braking system .
Mate I know I'm getting up in years but what is ARC ????
Mate did your 00 come with a overhead consol and automatic mirror mine didn't so I retro fitted and also the Mach radio with the sub woofer into the rear RHS If you havn'T I might have a spare OE one that would do Cheers Foxy

ARC - Automatic Ride Control - those horrible self leveling shocks LOL.
I bought this one with the overhead console so I don't know but I don't think so.
The 1st cab of the rank's gunna be giving it a susp. lift after that well, we'll just have to wait & see
So yours is going good now eh, sounds like those brakes are the go!

Hi Mate , I've just changed my computer so I'm in catch up mode .My ARC is disconnected . I have a Old Man Emu HD suspension with same same shocks and mate you will notice a hang of a lot a difference . You won't have any body roll and she will sit very tight into and out of corners. It's one of my better mod's but can be pricy from ARB .When you disconnect those OE shocks remember just put a good plug in the end of the pipes to the shocks from the compressor that way your warning light on your dash will stay off as it can be a bit annoying with the light on all the time . Really the best mod I did would be to dump that OE exhaust box and put a freeer flowing one on. That box is a huge choke on her.Mate if you don't wish to spend too much on your suspension you may get away with adding a couple of extra leaves in your springs with longer U bolts and just the OME shocks all round Cheers mate .Foxy
