I just finished repairing my fresh air/recirc door. But now I am having a slight issue with the vents.

When I turn on the a/c everything works and then slowly (over about 5 minutes) the air stops coming out of the main panel (face) vents and the air only comes out of the defrost vents at the top of the dash.

I check all vacuum control lines and I found something I need help verifying...

Tracing the yellow vacuum hose, it goes directly below the radio (above the a/c controls).

And then it just ends with an open connector!!! When I run the a/c, I can feel the vacuum being pulled through the open end of the YELLOW hose.

Can someone help me? I need to know what the yellow hose should connect to. Or maybe it serves some other purpose?

Thanks.

Nevermind. I finally figured it all out.

Care to enlighten us to what you figured out?

Sure.

The YELLOW vacuum line runs from the "vacuum control manifold", which controls the a/c dampers and runs to 2 things in the engine compartment (one being the PCV), behind the plasitic trim around the radio and a/c controls and then connects to another damper actuator that is hidden on the drivers side of the radio.

I am not sure exactly what the YELLOW hose does because there are vacuum lines and actuators on the glove box side for the panel/defrost actuator, a/c to feet, and the fresh air/recirc door.

My theory is that it assists in moving the damper for the main panel. But I really don't know. I had to reconnect it by feel, after seeing it with an inspection mirror and flashlight.

I must have pulled it off when pulling my dash to fix the recirc door.

Thanks. I am having issues with my recirculation door as well. I saw your other write-up about it. If it ever stops raining then I can attack it!!

Thanks again.
