Ok, so I must have read every post regarding front end noises. I have a '99 4wd. It howls at all speeds above 10mph EXCEPT when turning right, then it's dead quiet. Most of the posts I've read with this symptom point to a wheel bearing. I thought that the right bearing must be the culprit so I just finished swapping it out for a new one. Needless to say it was a pain with rusty bolts and all. Went for a test ride when done and it makes the exact same noise. What else can make this noise that goes away when turning right? CV? Drive shaft? Pinion? I'm at a loss and pissed that I spent the money for a non-repair.

The other side would be my guess,I don't know if there is a different part # for left and right but if not, take the bearing you just took out and put it in the left side to see if the noise goes away.Costs nothing but time that way.:D
