I'd say grab the CMP sensor, but if you're going through that much work, it might as well be new. I wish you luck with finding a good repair facility.

Much appreciated and needed. Not having much luck with independent mechanics. So calling a dealership tomorrow and see what they say.

If anyone in the greater Portland area has done a CMP before and wants to a maje a few hundred bucks..I'll do the wrenching and you do the coaching but its alittle more than I want to try on my own.

UPDATE....

Took the ole' girl to Ford. They diagnosed the CMP Sync
$1500 later and she's running smooth. Took her for a 3O0 mile round trip camping trip for her maiden voyage. Ran great the whole time until...about 10 miles from home a plug fouled out. So plugs and wires tomorrow. Tha is for all the help and advice guys.
