I installed the Superlift leaf springs from the 4" lift kit because the factory spring was completely flat and the front end sitting higher than the back. I was hoping that with a torsion twist that it would come out looking ok, but it didn't. The back end is now up too high. I'm really not interested in lifting the front right now because I'm broke & my tires are not big enough to look right. My question is, if I cut the shackle or I'm able to find a smaller one, will this work? I know the angles will be different & all that but I'm sure I can get it to fit, I'm just curious if there is anything that will completely not let this work.
Thanx.

First off give the Superlift springs time to settle, my 4" leafs are more like 2" leafs now.

Also if you are still spring under (assume you are with just a torsion twist) then you can lower it a bit with U bolts & blocks, and or shackles, but shackles shorter then stock might cause issues with pinion angle and clearance.
You can use 1-2" tappered blocks to help with the pinion and get your rear end back down a bit, I prefer the cast iron units from Superlift to the pock metal aluminum cheapo's

I dont think that cutting the factory shackle will get you low enough. I dont know if you had the mono leaf or the leaf pack but you can swap in a 4 door leaf pack. Then with the four door pack you can swap in the lower leafs of an F150 pack and get about 2" of lift without too harsh of a ride. Here is a link:

If you dont want to do that, I may want to buy / trade for your springs if you are interested. Send me a PM if you are.

I don't know anything about this u-bolt & block thing. What do I do. Can you explain it or give me a link that can.
Thanx.

Ok here is what I could come up with. This is a side drawing of your leaf set up. The axle is the round circle, the long arched part is your leaf pack, the crappy looking lines are your u bolts.

The idea is you put blocks between your axle and leaf springs, lowering your ride hight keeping your existing springs. You will need a block and some longer(EDIT: U Bolts) leaf springs. I hope this helps. Auto Zone sells kits with blocks and u bolts off the shelf.

OR you could buy new leafs off customsuspension.com

3'' lift leafs

they also have 1'' and 2'' lift leaf spring as well

Mountaineergree you said longer leaf springs?
i believe you mean 'longer U-bolts' not longer leaf springs...if not feel free to make fun of me

Yeah, its longer u bolts, I was tired.

Thanks alot for the response. I think I will try the blocks before I go & spend at least another $250 on 2" leaf springs, unless one of you live near me & want to buy them because I don't know how I would package & ship those.

You slao a sticker on them and give them to UPS or Greyhound! hahaha You can also set them on a pallet. Leaf springs are a PITA hahaha I will always remember the day the UPS kid delivered my bumpers, he was like WTF????

I think blocks will work well for you, I still vote for 2-3 weeks for those leafs to settle :)

I Want Pictures!!! :)

for those now days I jsut sketch it out, scan it, then post it, easier then MS paint :)

you could find a place, i dont know what shops are by you, but they can rearch those things so that the truck will sit level

I guess I will wait for them to "settle". I was thinkin this took months or somethin, if not I will see about getting them rearched. Thanks again for all the help.

Oh, & you don't want to see pictures, it looks retarded.
