I got my new 265/70/16 REVOS today from tirerack, took less then a day to have them shipped to Ohio. What a difference, I have not yet had them installed but am excited. I will include pics after installation as well.

looks like I need to change the date on my camera as well

you guys dont think they will rub do you? Everywhere I look it says they wont but It looks close.

Its the width of the tire I am worried about rubbing on the, I think, upper control arm?

Width will be the main worry. I'm not 100% sure, but I would guess it won't rub on the control arm but maybe either the front or the back of the wheel well (ie. bumper or side step) when turning.

oh yeah and thanks for the compliment on my Doberman, he would not get out of the way, he loves to have his picture taken!

anyone with experience with this size tire plz let me know if you had issues with rubbing?

Thanks

just guessing, but you have to remember once the tire is on the rim, it will sit up slightly higher than it is now. You should have plenty of clearance. In January I am going to get new tires, probably Nitto Terra Grapplers in size 265/70/17, from what people have told me is that they will not rub, if they wont yours shouldn't either, especially being an inch smaller.

I took my current tire/rim off the ex and placed the new tire in its spot, also took a few measurements. It looks like I will be OK. Also, given that the tire will expand with air in it, it assures me even more. The width I was worried about wasnt the tread but the actual sidewall which now seems wide but like I just said will actually narrow a bit. Thanks for your help!

take a look at my cardomain page link in my sig down below, i have the exact size tire you just got on my 03 xlt and they don't even come close to rubbing. i know every vehicle is diffrent but this size tire is what ford should have put on from the factory thats how good it fits.

Yeah, they should fit perfectly, Tuesday is the install day so I will post my findings and pics then, thanks for everyones help, now only if I can get help with shocks!

Those look nice, I'm looking forward to seeing the finished product. Were your cross terrains shot or did you just want bigger tires real bad?

My cross terrains were getting bad, I wouldnt say shot but not the best for Cleveland winters, I would definetly recommend the cross terrain though, I put 60k on them never had a problem through 3 winters and trips through west virginia dirt mountains to visit my grandparents. I defenitely wanted some bigger more aggressive tires so I went with the REVOS.
