Navigation DVD Incompatible Disk Error

My 2007 nav unit is doing the same thing. I don't want to spend a weekend taking everything apart since I never used it much.
Is there anyway to stick a small lubricant wand thru the front of the unit and just lubricate it that way?
I hear the disk spinning but rubbing in the drive.
My concern would be getting the laser dirty. Where should I aim and where not?
I guess I am looking at it this way, it's not working now, what harm can I do.
I will wait a little while to see if anyone responds. I will keep everyone updated if an when I do this and how I make out.

No. No way. The grease is applied to circular drive clamp. You have to separate it from sound system. Read my earlier post. Thanks. All you will do is get grease on the laser if you do it your way.

Thanks for your reply. I will just leave it alone then. I was looking for an easy fix.
I really only used the nav system when using the auxiliary input so I didn't have to look at the boring blank screen. So now I just put the Menu screen.
Thanks again.
