In OZ most of my gear comes from either the local Ford dealer...way too expensive or from one of the specialist dismantlers of Explorers.

Hey guys, just spotted this thread.
Good idea. I've been curious myself as to how many aussies there are on this site. ( so expat Kiwi's like me can avoid them. joke.)
I've seen a few ex's around Brisbane but don't know if any are on or visit this site.
I've been here about 6 - 8 months. Bought the ex about 9 months ago.
Someone asked about cam chain tensioners?
I posted a thread a while ago on this site as I needed some info on mine (98 XLT). These tensioners were recalled throughout the world as far as I have been able to establish EXCEPT Oz!!! Ford Oz had no coment!
Any way I managed mine under warranty. Ford said it would have cost about $A500.00.
Use the ex for low level 4x4 beach and track, plan a caravan in the near future.
If I ever figure out how to post pics I'll send them.

Best site on the web wouldn't go anywhere else. Saved me heaps.

Araldyte. Brisbane
PS
As I'm a kiwi you can figure it out for your self why I'm called Araldyte!!!!!

Fellow Aussies......Kiwis included

Know of any good X wreckers

It seems that we get over one problem to deal with another. Was going to sell the X now that the tensioners are all fixed...... Driving today and without any warning had a big BANG There goes our back window. Was expecting it to cost a large ammount but get this ford say $1100 trade. Even other places have said around the same as they would have to get it from ford. Anyone have any ideas or know of any wreckers that deal with the X

Also just to add its great to see that many aussies (KIWIS) are getting good use out of this site as well

CHEERS

:D

hey chowchowhow did you go about gettin your t chain done fors in wa says theres no such thing

Shaunv8

All 97 / 98 Xs are covered by01M01 program for 7 year 100,000 miles ( 160,000 kms) It took us a really big fight withj ford here to acknowledge the program. There are ways to beat them!!!!! Basically first > how many kms has your vechile done? If you want more information let us know because we can email you all the documents and a detailed list on how to do it. It saved us $2500 aus $

t chain

chowchow you have mail!!!

i'm no aussie, but I, like MeatyCrab, can vouch that although this site has saved me a few $$$, it's convinced me to purchase soooo many bad ass parts!!
