doors dont lock properly

usually when i get in my car and put it in drive and take my foot off the gas, the doors automatically lock. and usually when i hit the lock button on the keyfob, the doors would lock also. this doesnt happen anymore. anyone have any ideas?

do they unlock from the remote? from the unlock button on the door control? Do they lock from the door control?

mine started doing that when the car battery started showing it's age. about a month or two later we had to replace the battery.
