Ford Motor Co. Chairman and Chief Executive Bill Ford said Wednesday that bankruptcy isn’t an option for the nation’s No. 2 automaker, which is struggling to return its North American division to profitability.

Of course it's not an option... why would they say it was? You aren't allowed to speak negatively about your company when talking to the public.

The big three are all circling the drain.
 












If they told people that they might go bankrupt, then people will stop buying their products. Car companies have gone under in the past, like AMC, Delorean, Datsun, etc, and had to either merge with another comnpany to keep up like Daimler/Chrysler. Datsun changed their name to Nissan I think in the 80's, and AMC I think was bought by Chrysler also in the early 80's. This was a long time ago, so I don't remember exactly.

DCX isn't doing that bad--it is interesting though that Chrysler is carrying the Daimler side...
