Need some choices for tires

I am looking for tires for my 01 Sport. the stock size for tires are 255/70/16.

I am looking for AT tires. I was set on some General Grabber AT2s for tire rack.

but they are sold out. I was wondering what other options I have. I was looking to spend $800 or less for a set of 4 all mounted and balanced. Are there any other AT tires out there reasonably priced? if so where can I get them from? tire rack has some BF goodwrench tires but they are over $200 per tire. After shipping and mounting it would cost me almost $1000

Keep an eye on TireBuyer.com. Also out of stock, but they have free shipping.

Take a look at Kumho Road Venture SAT KL61.

http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireModel=Road+Venture+SAT+KL61&tireMake=Kumho - respectable ratings  and third in the On-/Off-Road All-Terrain category

I am considering those when my Michelin LTX M/S need replacing.

Goodyear Duratracs are also becoming a favorite on here.

I looked at those in the links but the tread doesn't look very aggressive for an AT tire. I also heard about duratracs but I have been unable to find them anywhere in the size I need.

I was also considering the goodyear silent armor since I can get them from discount tire for a little over $800 all mounted and everything.

Are you sure 255/70/16 is the stock tire size? I know that's what tire rack says, but it says the same thing for my 97, which actually has 235/70/16s on it.

Correct- stock tire sizes for an '01 Sport are 235/70/16's

Also correct... :D

I have the DuraTracs... LOVE them. If you would by chance find the size you need.

... and didn't the Silent Armors just have a big recall?

From build year 2009, it was a small batch of like 41,000 tires...

I checked goodyear's site. They do not have duratracks in the size I need. either the 235s or 255s.

So are the silent armors my best bet? I don't really care how loud they are.

in 3..2..1..

DURATRACS! best tire ive ever bought. awesome in the snow too. can you wait to buy tires until the summer? they are usually cheaper and the best tire deals always come out during the dry seasons.

Well apparently tire rack has the general grabbers back in stock so I am going to get those. (or at least will have then in stock now). the price went up but not enough to detour me.

The duratracs weren't in the size I needed. I could maybe could have gotten the 265s on the rim but no tire shop I know would have done it for me.
