04 Explorer

Can anyone out there tell me if the 04 Explorers are as bad on tranny's as the 02-03? This one has 95,000 miles on it and the previous owner says he's had no tranny problems....Help please before I make a decision to buy it...

The 04/05's seem to have a lower rate of failure but not by much. They only fixed the problems in the 06'+.

I have an 04 and had no tranny issues, 156000 miles, cracked windshield LOL (posted yesterday). $100 for a harmonic balancer that came apart in 2011 and took out my serpentine belt replaced it on the turnpike and drove another 500 miles before I could fix it. 100 for balancer, 50 for broken knuckles, 30 for belt - education - priceless.
