I'm thinking either the Nitto NT 421Q or the Pirelli Scorpion Verde All Season

I'm not a huge fan of these two, but I guess for the money...

Falken Ziex S/TZ-05 or Yokohama Parada Spec-X

I would personally look into ( NITTO 420s ) in a 285/40/20.

Hmm, cool looking, non-directional tread design, decent price, 420 treadwear (ie. sticky), but will probably only last 20-30k miles.

but is 285 TOO wide?

Hmm, they also have the Nitto NT 420S in 265/50-20...maybe I'll just go a size taller than I have now and leave the width the same...I'd rather have more sidewall anyway.

oh and they are CHEAP at $153 each.

Looking at it more:

265/45-20 --Stock--
275/45-20 1.21% Larger
265/50-20 3.55% Larger
285/40-20 -1.41% Smaller

It looks like the closest size really is the 275/45-20, so I'd rather stay with that size.

Look at the Yokohama YK580's I have them on my 2014 and really pleased with them.

The Yoko YK580's are Discount Tire exclusives and they did not recommend them anymore...I think that model is going out and I don't think they had it in the 275/45-R20 size. But yes, I did hear that is a pretty good tire.

I actually ended up pulling the trigger and got the Nitto NT 421Q's in 275/45-20

So far, I'm happy. I can't tell much difference really, but they look great. The Continentals that were on my Explorer were great tires actually, but only lasted 30,000 miles.

I paid $950 out the door with certs, tax, and fees. Not too bad. We'll see how they hold up.

I don't have the Sport, but I just put a set of 275/45 R20 Falken Ziex S/TZ-05's on my Limited. I just came to say that they're noisier than the factory Hankook's by quite a bit. They tend to "sing" at speeds below 55mph.

You had the OEM upgraded "Z" rated performance tire (Continental) upgrade package........what did you think of them I'm considering that for my next buy?

They were great. Sticky, great in the rain, but only lasted 30k. I might have gotten 5k more out of them, but I don't like going below 3/32nds.

Great tires, but expensive in the 265/45-20 size or I would have bought them again.
