The time has come to replace the tires on my wifes' 08 Corolla S and can't decide on which tire to go with. I have been looking at the BFG Traction T/A 195/65/15 tire and the Cooper Lifeliner GLS in the same size. The BFG has a 70k mile warranty and the Cooper has a 60k mile warranty. I have had the traction t/a tires in the past and thought they were great. But that has been about 8 years ago. I have Cooper Discovery tires on my 20's but haven't put a bunch of miles on them yet. So far I like them but they are strictly for spring, summer and fall weather (no snow).

Right now she has Dayton tires on the Corolla and they have much to be desired in the snow and are quite loud going down the road. Has anybody has any recent experience with either the BFG or the Cooper. I can get the BFG for about $301 shipped and the Cooper for $341 shipped. I just want a good all season tire that doesn't drone going down the road and goes well in the snow. And with the recent snow storms we've had it really showed me how crappy the Daytons are. If anyone has a good recommendation on a tire I should look in to I'm all ears (or eyes since I will be reading).

Here is a couple of links for the tires:

I dunno if this comes in the right size for your vehicle but my parents swapped in Yokohama Avid TRZ's on their Camry and a Subaru Forester last summer - OMG the grip, even the blizzard we had was no problem! The road handling between the old and new tires were like night and day in every condition. Price was awesome too - it was like $75 or $80 a tire from TireRack.

We are not looking to spend more than $70 a tire. After looking at the review chart the BFG tires rated higher than the Coopers. The Goodyears would be a nice tire but they are too pricey. We are using part of our income taxes to do this and saving the rest towards a vacation on our anniversary in June.
