I just bought a 2005 Eddie Bauer and the accelortor is very touch. If I dont fix it or pay my mechanica to fix it I am told that I am going burn something out.

my currently solution to the problem is to shift from 1 into drive once I get moving.

Is this a common problem or the way that this version was designed?

Thanks

Martin

If I recall its drive by wire. If your having to shift into 1 then into drive to get moving then its probably more transmission related, either electronic issues or hard parts related

Sounds like you have the 4.6l V8?

If so, this is a common issue. You have a few options. Option one, find a new mechanic, no offense.
Option 2, remove and clean the throttle body. Use throttle body cleaner and do remove it first.
Option 3, get the PCM updated by Ford.

looking back at this made me LOL. grease the accelerator.🤣🤣🤣

I did clean the throttle body and that solved the problem.
