    Power windows sticking

All four windows in my '04 stick halfway - it is usually going down but sometimes going up. Driver's window is the worst - I can clearly see it go crooked and then jam up. It will then move with a hand assist and some effort. Would this be a worn-out regulator, or has the window partially...

Solved Regulator window switch working in reverse - up is down/down is up

My rear passenger window in my '02 crapped out. I replaced it with an aftermarket regulator/motor assembly. It works, but at both the master switch and rear door window switch, to put it up you press down and vice versa. No wiring was changed. Any ideas on why this is happening or how to fix...

Solved Window Gear Bushings Replacement trouble

Using that popular guide on this website I have tried a few times to conquer the task of changing the bushings in my motor gear for my '92 Explorer Sport. I am mechanically inclined (not that this is a tough job or anything..) so the task as a whole should be a piece of cake... However, I...

    Help, died in traffic

Hello again! I was driving around the other day and my 92 ex just died at a red light, towed it home and here it sits. Ive tested fuses and ruled out the inertia switch. I tested the voltage at the connect before it goes into the fuel tank. When the key is in the run position its about 7 volts...

    bad alternator?

After a lengthy top end rebuild, my 91 is up and running again. One snag I discovered is that my alternator has crapped out. According to the Haynes manual, the procedure to check the regulator and alternator has resulted in a need for a new alternator. Back probing the A and I pins show...

Voltage reg. embedded in silicone. If there is no burned areas or dark spots in the silicone you can just replace the brushes.

    Alt. repair/replace.

Four t-20 torx head screws secure the voltage regulator to the back of the regulator. It is possible to remove the regulator and brushes without removing the alt. But it is a pain and the chance of dropping a part into the housing is great.
