new batt. keyless doesn't work

I had a new battery put in my 2002 XLT. All was good except lost the code on my FOB. I did a search and found how to reprogram and got it done. The problem is the keyless entry pad does not work. It lights up and I can lock the doors by pressing the 2nd and 3rd buttons, and I even played around and got it to blink but nothing. I know my code as it was gotten from Dealer when they hooked up to computer once. I did not lose radio channels, so I am thinking I can leave the Neg. or Pos. cable off for ???? time and maybe it will reset? Any input? Thanks

See my posts on this to find the factory default code. Your code may have been erased. This is the 3rd time I answered this question in the past 1/2 hr.. lots of people missing codes today. Hope it helps
