Does anybody know if the 281 V8 has a timing chain or timing belt ? If belt, what about maintenance ? ( changing required at x.. miles ? )

(It´s not much important, I only like to know)

Can anybody explain what "drive by wire" and "torque by wire" means and how it works ? Have never ever heared about that before and no clue what it does / how it works.

I am assuming that the Explorer 4.6L and Mustang 4.6L are the same and if they are they have a timing chain and not a belt. Therefore, you should not have to change the chain unless something goes bad. As for the torque and drive by wire I think it may have something to do with a traction control system but I am just guessing on that.

Drive by wire
I am guessing it means it has a>
Electronic throttle so No accelerator cable there is an electrical servomotor on the TB.
