Hi all,
My Explorer consumes about 1/2 to 3/4 of a gallon of coolant very 2 months. I'm not seeing any coolant on the ground or any white smoke from the exhaust. Any ideas on what it could be or how to troubleshoot?
Thanks,
Gregg

Take off the cover over the top of the engine and look around. Some of the old intake manifolds crack and leak slowly, on the coolant passage near the thermostat. Mine did crack and leak. Mine puddled up around the front couple injectors on the passenger side and would evaporate from there, never made it to the ground. It's since kinda slowed down and stop. I'm wondering if the residue from the dried coolant hasn't plugged up the crack!
