Very high idle.

B2 4x4 starts good..but idles very high,and wont slow down until I tap the throttle. Also while driving will die on occasion. My emission light comes on sometimes,and a few weeks ago I blew up my muffler. When I bought this rig,the old one was also blown..and the tail pipe was shredded. I have some good ideas what it might be,but looking for more opinions. Your help will be most appreciated.

Welcome to this forum! I've moved your thread into the Bronco II section. Did you check the vacuum lines for leaks? Did you see if there are any stored fault codes?

id guess vacuum leak, i had that same prob on my bII, really high idle
