I went from 31's to 33's and only noticed a small amount of power loss on acceleration. Still completely tolerable though.

so much that your truck could blow up into 10000000 peices

Yes boomin's answer was much more accurate. Please disregard the ignorance in my previous post.

Running 33's depends a LOT on the axle ratio that you have. With 3.73's (a common ratio) you will be able to run them without too many problems, except that you will basically loose your overdrive gear until you are at 65 or above on the freeway. On my 92, the engine turns under 2000 RPM below 65, too low not to lug the engine and cause detonation (which hurts the engine).

FYI, I did just run mine from Louisville, KY to Dayton, OH (round trip 600 miles) and also from Louisville to Panama City Beach (roud trip 1500 miles), so they will run down the freeway OK - just have to selectively use OD. I pulled around 17 MPG average for the Florida trip running somewhere around 85 MPH average.

The picture below is one I that I took early in the morning with the Ex on the beach...

Depends on your gear ratio, if you had 3.27s like I used to have when I had 33s 5th gear was useless.

How many threads are you going to start about putting 33's on your truck? Here's everything you wanted to hear: 33's do mad burnouts, yo. 33's will cut your 0-60 in half. 33's will raise your MPG at least 10. 33's will make you 1/4 at least 5 seconds shorter. 33's will last at least 150k. Just buy the damn tires already.

Woah they do all that? I'ma have to trade in my 35s for some 33s my truck would be mad pimp then. :p

WOW!!! will 33's fit with 2''s of drop? Im ready to kick some viper butt! Will I be able to go past 100 mph too? I can't do that now but if thye are as good as you say they are I want them!

LMAO, you just got served.

i have the tires i just need to get them blanced and put on the wheels and i have 373 gear ratio

if you have the tires then why ask????? put them on and find out first hand. what you may think is a powerloss someone else may not even notice.

im putting them on friday so i will find out then

well i have my 33's on for a while now an i just got back from a fun drive..i timed my 0-60 an its 11.7sec-12.4sec 4 0-60 uns and then went to these bridges that are 1/4mile away from each other and got up to 78mph... i dont know if thats good or not

Did you correct the speedo? None of that is relevant with an incorrect speedo, and base numbers.

Hey gyus im thinking of putting 33s on my truck but i still want to do the normal 60 burnouts like i normally do what size tires do you think are the best to accomplish this with out taking away from my 1/4 mile time and 0 to 60 time also i need some tires that last a long time because i do a lot of burnouts not purposely just too much power also has any one put a 460 in there explorer ive been thinking of doing this and i think it would add alot of power to it vroom

well sorry to say, but something must give

Wait what happend to Selling your X..........WAiT no i forgot your putting 17inch Cobras.......wait thats not it your buying your Moms V8.....hmmmm no thats not it either

finally I seen an explorer with a 4 inch lift, seems it'll look cool to remove the body lift and get 33's, a lifted but low profile look is what I'm after
