Went out wheelin' this Friday night with a buddy (spooled TJ)....ran some trails in Reider....ended up breaking a front shaft and getting some more body damage. The front doors are coming off, the rears are getting welded shut, and an internal cage is being put in after I chop the top......I'm sick of my doors not shutting any more.

Time for a buggy ;)

Now I'm afraid to come play with you :p

you weren't before?

I claim newbe ignorance :D

selling all my windows/hatches ect cheap......

yup, i've already removed the front doors and rear hatch. I'm still debating on what to do with the rear doors. i'm thinking cutting them in half at the window (which is gone) and welding them shut. the roof will be cut just after the rear seats. gonna install an internal cage and build removable half doors on the front.

sweet. definately put up pics of it after the top comes off. i really like that look but all the people who do it are down south so its impossible to see them in person. hope it all goes well.
good luck.

the top has been chopped...............anyone need a roof?

How/why are you breaking front shafts? I have a simular setup and don't want to grenade it.
Drivers side mirror and inside pull handle what shape are they in and what would you want for them, I need to replace mine but I don't want to use my good spares yet

i think the drivers door handle is still in good condition. you can have it, i was just going to throw it away. as far as the mirror....its still there, but its now a removable mirror. i'm thinking about re-using it on the half doors.

as far as my shafts....not sure. i have warn fuseable links so i was very surprised that the shaft broke. i think the ujoing actually failed ripping the ears off. i was just way heavy on the throttle this time.

starting to come together. next step is the cage.

Looks great! pure function.

I like the skin on the front doors. Are you putting the same setup on the rears?

That looks awesome

i dont thing i'm doing the same setup on the rear doors, i think i'll just weld in the 11gauge steel i used to skin the fronts. all my wheelin buddies that ride along get annoying anyways, as they are not driving they sit there and drink beer....havent made up my mind yet though. i'll put the cage in and decide after what i'll do for sure with the rears.

not exactly a 'roll' cage, but it serisouly reinforces the body. and now i dont have to worry about my doors not closing anymore!
i still have to mount the speakers into the cage and wire them, then paint it. then install a new shaft, and change the oil. then i can go wheelin again....
