Alright, was about to click purchace but decided to ask one nagging question...

I'm down to two tires, the BFG AT's (I've got a set now and love them) and the Pro Comp MT's. Of all the searching I've done I haven't found whether the MT's can handle themselves in sand. I know the BFG's can but I'd like to try something different... But only if the MT's are beach-worthy. Any quick thoughts??

Oh and I FINALLY decided to go with the 32x11.5x15 with the Rock Crawler streetlocks.

To be perfectly honest, go with either the BFG AT or Procomp AT. You will regret MTs if its your daily driver. I had my 33 MTs on and they wore down quick.

i dont think i'd run a M/T if you drive on the road everyday..the noise might be annoying. so i'd stick with the BFGs.

make sure to post pics after!! lol

I'm not too worried about the noise but wearing quick is a big no-no for me. Especially if the MT's are almost $100 more. The thing I worry about most if I get the BFG's is how much different will 32x11.5's look from the 31x10.5's I have now? I decided to go with the 32's because I don't want to end up cutting metal on the inside fenders. So I figured a beefier tire (the MT's) would make up for size a bit. Would that be a good assumption?

i think the 32s in BFG would look just fine with the lift. idk thats my opinion. hell i liked how your truck looks with the 31s and BL.

Buying new tires is just my excuse to get new rims. :)

well as long as your getting 8 inch wide wheels you shouldn't have to cut that much with 33s and youll will be way happyier in the end, and if you dont mimnd the noise the MTRs(very loud) but are awesome in the sand and mud and they are a pretty hard compund, i have them on my daily driver and altough they are very loud in 5 months they havent really worn down at all, i got them with just under 50% tread and have atleast 10k mi on them probiby more i dont know how many miles were on the truck when i put them on but i used a 15 x 10 wheel and had to cut more tan i wanted too, i was a little up set at first, but now i have no regrets it looks soo much better than it would have.

Ok here is my experiance with tires and sane. I work at an offroad shop here in va beach and put tires on trucks all the time from the beaches of NC. If you want a sand tire you want an AT. The best tires to be just in sand with is a all terrain with about 30% tread left. In sand you want to float, not dig. A mud terrain is really not the best choice for sand but when aired down will work fine. A good all around tire for sand and various off road is the procomp all terrain or the BFG all terrain. For a little bit of everything (sand, dirt, mud ect) I would reccomend Procomp X-terrains. That is what I run and I love them.

Now if you want an all terrian and had to choose between a procomp and a BFG I would pick Procomp. They are some of the best balancing offroad tires. For exampt I have 35" X terrains that the most weight 1 tire took was 4.25 oz's. Seldom do I see BFG's balance under that. Even how meaty the tread is on my Xterrians they make little noise and you can easily get 40k out of them if you rotate every 7-10K.

Now if money wasn't an issue then I would say look at the Dick Cepek Fun Country tires. Expensive but a very good tire.

just my 2cents...

i love my procomp MTs, Im hooked for life I think, I have them on my DD and I've driven across country in them and back and they've hardly worn down, great tires, i love going mudding with them, they've done fine in the little sand i've hit with them, great sand dune national park and all :)

another vote for Pro-Comp AT's.
A happy camper am I. :D

Well I decided to go with the 32x11.5 BFG AT and the rims. The BFG's I have now have never allowed me to get stuck anywhere and I think they look a bit more aggressive on the sidewall than the Pro Comps do. Plus they won't stick out as much past the fender while still filling out the well a bit more than my current ones.

Thanks to all who gave me feedback! I really appreciate it. I put up some pics once I get them. Anyone know how long it takes 4 Wheel Parts to usually ship these things?

Oh and Jim, Once I get these I may just get rid of the 31's I have on now. I know I'm going to use one as a spare and one has been plugged but still has a slow leak. So that leaves 2 tires left with spare potential if your interested. Let me know.

Absolutley I am interested! :bounce: That would be great!
And congrats on the purchase of the new rubber.
When I ordered from 4wheelparts last year they had backorderd my tires, but when they did come in, it took less than a week to get them to my house. So if they have your's in stock, look for a pallet at your house within a week, maybe two at the outset, thats if they use the same truck freight they did when I ordered. :D

Sweet. Thanks for the info. When I get them in I'll let you know and we can work logistics. Right now I think I'll be in Falls Church the 18th and 19th of May so maybe we can meet up...

Finally got 'em!

Thanks guys. Jim, if your still interested in a spare 31 I've got one for ya...

Quick question for everyone. How heavy do you have to be wheelin' for the front tires to get pushed back? I'm trying to decide if I've trimmed the botom tupperware enough...
