Intake help 2004 v-6

I have an 04 xlt v-6 and am looking for a new cold air intake. I was wondering what you guys use and what you think works best. I have always been a fan of K&N but they don't make a kit for the 04 v-6, only the sport-trac and the v-8. Any advice and/or pics would help a lot. Thanks in advance.

KKM makes one: http://www.kustomz.com/054004.html - personally I think it's a bit pricey for what it is. Someone posted that the temperature in the engine bay was so hot that without a proper heat shield it ends up doing more harm than good, unless you have a true cold air, which no one really makes..

i'm making my own set up.
Got a intake pipe..and for the maf sensor i'm using the stock housing just going to cut it from the airbox
