Hey guys, I've got a 2001 Sport, now, I purchased a Pioneer AVIC-F90BT head unit for my truck, fits right into the dash with minor modification. I'm buying the MTX thunderform sub for the rear, my question, what are some good, inexpensive speakers that can replace the other factory speakers and what kind of amp is good, yet can be hidden away?

Go for either some Pioneer, Infinity, or Kicker Type-S speakers. For an amp I would buy this.

before looking at anything...we need to know a budget.

Hell I could recommend a 1000 dollar amp

I dont want to spend more than $500 to $600 for the rest of the speakers

with that budget I would suggest a small two channel amp with some components up front..then some low budget 6x8's in the back...along with some sound dampening mat...it will GREATLY improve the sound.

Rear Speakers

All this for less than 300 dollars...then you have the extra money for some serious sound dampening. 90% of people don't dampen the doors...BUT they have no idea how much it improves the sound quality, output, and dynamics.

6x9s Pioneer in 01 Sprt and 03 XLT

We have an 01 Sport... Two Pioneer 6x8 front $70.00 WalMrt, Two 6x9 rear WalMrt $90.00 (minor modification was done by the installer for the rear) and two tweeters (don't recall the name, but they are attached to the front Pioneers and pinned on the door panels) $75approx... I don't recall what sub is in the rear, but it was around the same price as above w/box included...

Edit:

I don't know how they did the XLT, but here is a pic of the 6x9 in the 01 Sport. The grille covers the speaker... that's my son's truck (he doesn't even need the sub with the 6x9s, but he's not a big audio fan either) Sounds great to me... The only amp is to the sub...
