Happy 10 Year Anniversary to me and my Sport Trac

Today is my 10th year Anniversary of buying my 2001 Sport Trac 4x4. I drove her off the Mak Haik Ford dealer lot 10 years ago tonight.

It was a Friday night and the next day me, my daughter, and my girlfriend at that time spent the July 4th weekend camping at Big Bend National Park.

Just a little over 91K miles on the odometer. She's hasn't seen much action in the last few years. Most of my driving has been done in my 2000 Limited. I bought the 2000 Limited in August 2004 with 27K miles on her and I am fastly approaching 140K miles on the odometer of the Limited.

Before the Sport Trac I don't think I ever owned a vehicle more than 3 years. I would alway sell them or trade them in. So I'm just amazed that I have kept this vehicle for 10 years. And now I'm approaching 6 years with the Limited. Before the Sport Trac I didn't think anything of the Explorers. But the Sport Trac is such a good looking truck that I had to buy it. And now the Explorers and Explorer community has grown on me. I've met and made friends with lots of great people because of owning these Explorers.

But I am having thoughts of selling the Sport Trac. I like the Limited's v8 drivetrain and smaller wheelbase. You know as well as I do, it's a pita maintaining two Explorers. And someday soon I want to have a daily driver car.

Congrats! Still the most famous Sport Trac in the nation.
I had a Mustang I bought new in 1985 and had it for 11 years, the longest I ever owned a vehicle.
