I decided to try painting my headlights and using the 3m Headlight restore

You can see the damage from years of sun and driving

Here is sanding with 50 grit, I suggest once you get to the wet sanding stage and you think you are good, go back and do it two more times then buff, i also used a finishing compound to get better results

Finished, The headlights look better but dont expect a brand new headlight, there is still some haze but does look much better.

Looks really nice! May be a spring project for me.

I read about someone using a clear coat after doing their lights and it helped with fine scratches and made it look even better. Yours is a MAJOR improvement compared to what you started with;) Great job!

:thumbsup:

Looks good!

Looks great! I hope you did not go as low as 50 grit, that is way more aggressive than necessary and could be part of the reason you still have some haze. I have never seen a set that could not be corrected with 600 grit or better!

I'm sorry i left a zero off, 500 grit, 800, a wetsand with I believe 2000 then a rubbing compound. 50 grit sure would tear some stuff up

Looks really good. :thumbsup::thumbsup:

I love the 3M kit. I have tried other methods that are guaranteed to work but they never do. The 3M kit is the way to go!!
