Thought I'd register my rig. Bought her in 2008 65k miles on the clock for $18 grand, always been happy with her until I caught the modding bug (you *******s, yeah you know who you's are). So now I'm extremely happy and love my x and decided to post some pics in here.

This is when I first got her.

Looks really good you'll have to report on the quality of the cb...
I like the center console floor shifter too even though it's stock

Cheers guys:chug:

Still well happy with the 11226 Nate:thumbsup:, it hasn't quietened down too much but I'm still along way from 5k miles on it.

Thanks Joe, It was really the only place I could find for it where it would look clean and be within easy reach. It's a great design with the remote face which was perfect for me 'cause I'm LAZY and bad things happen when I start playing with power tools on my dash.:D

Definitely keep you updated on the performance of this little critter Person 21, I'm hoping it should be ok because of all the repeater stations around here. Aerial placement may be an issue but easily remedied, my preference is the right tail light but other alternatives are roof rack or bull bar.

The power plug, I'm sure no-ones seen one of these before. This unit is virtually plug and play, splice the ciggy plug to the power cord, plug in the remote head line and stash the whole shebang under the front passenger seat. Really is too easy.

Eh Voila, as Chef Joe Dirt might say, Ve 'ave le pow wer. (ps I did clean that dirt in the last pic off Joe)

VERY clean install, congrats on it!.....even though you own a third gen :D

I tease greg, i really like your truck and the brush gaurd is bigger than my couch...:p:

HOLY SHEEP FUR BATMAN!

dang man i bet them seats are comfortable, great install btw looks clean. I like the small head unit, and the console under the seat.

Thanks guys! Us poor 3rd gen owners, the bane of EF, but what doesn't kill us makes us stronger! It might be bigger Russ but I wouldn't want to watch Lord of the Rings sitting on it mate.

Put's a whole new meaning on 'Australia, riding on the sheep's back' Sam. They are pretty comfy tho'. My aerial should rock up today, I've customed up my mount wih the back of an axe and a grinder. It's painted and dry so I should have something to do today.

Well Lynchy, quit running your jibs and get the aerial mounted mate. :p: I'm waiting to see pics of the thing........................

Aye aye Cap'n.

Yea Greg, go build something! Nevermind the fact its like night there right now or morning or something, LOL........Geography Fail:rolleyes:

Back too the future guys. Back too the future:smokinfro

Roads? Where we're going we don't need roads..................................

Well I'm sure that I live in the past, the good ole days. The aerial didn't rock up today so I'll have to play some C.O.D. 7 (translates to Christ I'm bored). I'll post some crappy pics of the mounting bracket paint drying so y'all can share in my boredom.

Drib's and drab's at the moment while I wait for my bloody aerial. External speaker arrived today from bloody england, I'll have to get onto the aerial seller(away 'til the 7th) because it shouldn't take longer to post something from your own country than it takes to post something from half way round the world. Bloody bloody bloody hell!!!

Anyway now thats out of my system :D here are some pic's of where I mounted the external speaker. I originally went 8" up but it hit my head when doing the offroad side to side rock and the cable was too short to reach the main unit under the front passenger seat. Thanks Gman for the idea's:thumbsup:

Sweet! :)

Good thing about that location is you can hear it over any other noise at low volume. If I turn up the volume, it can be heard clear as day outside of the rig with the window down.

Nice work, Lynchy!

Sweet antenna bracket. Your Ex looks great!

Thanks for the comments guys :biggthump. I'm still waiting to hear from the bloke who sold me my aerial so I might head into town and see what's on offer there today. Here's a pic of the absent aerial. It's 3', ground independent, omnidirectional and 6 1/2 db. I got it...hahaha, bought it, for a great price as it also will come with 5' of coax.

Well I made it into town (just for a look;) ) and while I was in there thought 'bugger it' and bought one. I've been wondering about a dual whip set up anyway.... Here's a few pic's of the mount and where I ran the coax, was going to go the route Ronin8002 suggested in his write up in the cb/ham sub forum but got lazy (which is something I never do). Luckily it came out alright and after fitting the connector and soldering the coax all was cherry ripe. It even works.:D
